Mental Elf Run 2018!

Mental Elf is our first ever 5K Fun Run with the emphasis on fun! It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned runner or prefer a stroll in the park, the event is for everyone.

Whether you want to run, skip, hop or jog your way across the finish line we really appreciate your help in raising vital funds that allow us to continue doing what we do. South East and Central Essex Mind’s vision is mental wellbeing for all: we want everyone in our part of Essex to be aware of and know how to improve their wellbeing. Regular physical activity is associated with lower rates of depression and anxiety. An active lifestyle not only keeps our bodies healthy, but it makes us feel good too! By taking part in the Mental Elf Run, people boost their own wellbeing as well as helping others across South East Essex. The Mental elf run will take place on Saturday 15th December at Belfair’s Woods in Southend.

You can sign up for the 2018 Mental Elf Run here

The event is on Saturday 15th December. Public registration starts at 9am and closes at 10am. The pre-run warm-up commences at 10.15am outside the Belfair’s Woodland Centre and the run starts promptly at 10.40am.

This is a trail run and the woods are likely to be muddy so please wear appropriate footwear and bring something warm to put on at the end of the run.

All runners will get a goodie bag at the finish line containing treats. We will be giving out certificates after the event rather than medals, which will not only be a great keepsake but will also reduce the running costs. We will be selling elf hats before the event to help our running elves keep their ears warm! Refreshments will be available to purchase.

Enter our fancy dress competition for the chance to win a Christmas hamper.

Prizes available for the:

Best dressed adult!

Best dressed child!

Best dressed team!

South East and Central Essex Mind rely on donations so we can provide vital services to support mental health and save lives. We encourage runners to raise sponsorship as individuals or teams.

For more information about the run/walk, please read our FAQs. (Yes, you can bring the dog. Yes he is encouraged to wear fancy dress.)

We want this event to be ecologically-friendly and it is essential we protect our local woodlands. Water will be available but we are encouraging people to bring their own to reduce the amount of plastic waste we produce.

Please be aware we will be filming and snapping photos and taking lots of ‘Elfies’ throughout the day. If you are not happy for any pictures you are featured in to be used on social media, in press releases or further publications please see the staff at the registration desk to withdraw your photo consent.
