World Mental Health Day 2021

If we all do one thing, we can change everything.

World Mental Health Day is on Sunday 10 October.

The theme this year is 'Mental Health in an Unequal World'.
As the World Health Organisation states

“The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on people’s mental health. Some groups, including health and other frontline workers, students, people living alone, and those with pre-existing mental health conditions, have been particularly affected.”

World Mental Health Day presents an opportunity for us all to make a difference in bringing equality to mental health care and support. Individuals, communities, and workplaces all have their part to play.

This year’s WMHD is a chance to speak out, spread the word and make change happen. And that’s where you come in.

The struggles of the past two years have exacerbated the inequalities within mental health, and many more of us are now struggling than ever before.

Will you do one thing and join the fight?

Do one thing…

For yourself:

If you have been struggling with your mental health and wellbeing, you are not alone.
Join our Somewhere To Turn group or take a look at our self-referral form that will allow you to access our counselling services without a GP referral.

We also offer a wide range of Mental Health Training for those looking to learn more about mental health.

For others:

Why not consider becoming a volunteer or fundraising for our charity? You could also give a one-off donation online or by text to help celebrate World Mental Health Day.

You can also help raise mental health awareness and fight to reduce the stigma and inequality surrounding mental health by following us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn or sign up to our newsletter.

For the future:

Make a difference by becoming a regular donor and giving a donation each month to help keep our services running. You can also sign up to give via payroll. More people are in need of support than ever before, by giving as little as £2 a month, you can help ensure that we can continue to operate as a charity and even expand our services and allow us to provide mental health support to anyone who needs it, now and in the future.
