We are delighted to report that work has been completed on the refurbishment of one of our community homes. These community homes play a vital role in helping people to gain their independence and take the steps needed towards sustaining tenancy on their own. It is the aim of South East and Central Essex Mind to update all of our community housing and this is an important benchmark on route to achieving that goal.
Services Manager, Georgina Beadon has played a vital role in this extensive project and shared her pride at the completion of the first home. “A positive and healthy living environment is key to the recovery of anyone dealing with mental health issues. These community homes give people a base from which they can start to rebuild their lives so it is important that they feel as comfortable and welcome as possible during their -tenancy.”
The first home to be completely refurbished was a 5 bedroom property that can now accommodate 6 thanks to an extension and added bedroom. The flooring, decoration and furniture have also been replaced throughout the property and the first tenants are set to move in within the next week. None of this would have been possible without your continued donations and support. Thank you for your kindness, it truly does make a difference.
