Celebrating Volunteers' Week 2020

During this year's Volunteers' Week we would like to celebrate and say thank you to everyone has given up their time to help make a difference to SECE Mind.

Our work just wouldn't be possible without your support, volunteers are crucial throughout our charity, from helping at fundraising events to working as qualified volunteer counsellors. As a self-funded charity, these acts of selflessness allow us to continue to help those in the community in need of mental health support. We are so grateful for your kindness and generosity.

To all of our volunteers, past and present - Thank you!

"Volunteers are at the heart of what we do. They are essential to keeping our service running, helping all the people we can but also they embody everything we are about By being a volunteer, it helps people to develop work skills social skills, confidence and helps people feel valued and part of their community. I have been honoured to see so much personal and professional growth in our volunteers in my time as Services Manager, I have been able to see first-hand what a difference volunteering makes to our volunteers as well as to us. We are especially lucky at SECE Mind that we have such a superb bunch of volunteers, they're so dedicated and supportive not just of the people that use our service but also to each other and our whole team. I adore being in the office when it is full of the team it's a vibrant buzz, full of such wonderful people. It's what I have missed the most about the current situation. Our volunteers are absolutely the heart of what we do, and I know how dedicated they are to our ethos and getting people the right help at the right time. So friendly and welcoming I am so proud of everyone of them. We have benefited hugely by having volunteers, whether people stay for a year or 10 they have all brought their own unique something special to SECE Mind. We even have the benefit of workforce in training where a lot of staff started here as volunteers and stayed as a member of staff. I am so personally grateful to every person we have had the pleasure of being on out team. You make the difference at SECE Mind and no words will ever convey how amazing you are." Catherine, Services Manager
