Free 'Mindful Monday' sessions - 21 September
On Monday 21 September, SECE Mind will be joining forces with organisations across England and Wales to take part in ‘Mindful Monday’, as part of the Great British Week of Sport in partnership with ukactive. Together we are using the power of physical activity to help tackle mental health problems.
We will be inviting the local public to participate in a variety of mindful activities on the monday, taking place both online and outside. As part of as promoting the benefits of physical activity for mental health, these events are aimed at supporting people experiencing mental health problems, such as depression and bipolar disorder, to help build their confidence to engage in physical activity, get active at home, or take up a new sport such as yoga, walking or meditation (to name just a few!).
There is good evidence to suggest that, as well as improving physical health, regular exercise can boost your mood, help beat stress and even reduce risk of depression.
Activities will be free to attend and run at different times throughout the day. Event pages are now live, if you are interested in taking part in Mindful Monday please book your place early to avoid disappointment!
