Who We Are

South East and Central Essex Mind Ltd was formed on the 1st April 2012 following the merger of Southend and District Mental Health Association (Southend Mind) and Chelmsford and District Mind Centre (1985) Ltd (Chelmsford Mind) in December 2011. Together we have a track record of over 45 years of delivering quality mental health services meeting local need and working with stakeholders to ensure we identify gaps and develop relevent services.

We continue to look for ways to develop our services, working in partnership with other local service providers to ensure the needs of those within our communities who are experiencing mental distree are met.

South East and Central Essex Mind Ltd is affiliated to Mind, a leading mental health charity in England and Wales.

We are one of over two hundred Local Mind Associations, which comprise the Mind network.

The services provided by us reflect the belief that individuals who are viewed to be vulnerable to mental health difficulties have a right

 

 

MISSION and VALUES

The objects of South East and Central Essex Mind are approved by the Charity Commission and mirror those of Mind, the national mental health charity.

OUR MISSION:

Our vision is of a society that promotes and protects good mental health for all and that treats people with experience of mental distress Fairly, Positively and with Respect

The needs and experience of people with mental distress drives our work and we make sure their voice is heard by those who influence change.

Our independence gives us the freedom to stand up and speak out on the real issues that affect daily lives.

We provide information and support, campaign to improve policy and attitudes and in partnership with other local Mind Associations, develop local services.

We do this to make it possible for people who experience mental distress to live full lives and play their role in their communities.
