Community Development Project (REASON)

This service provides a service across:
-
Southend-on-Sea
-
Rochford
-
Castle Point
Aims
The aim of the service is to focus on the Black and Ethnic Minority community groups with the intention of breaking down barriers that may exist between ethnic minority communities and service provision. To reduce stigma and discrimination around mental health, supporting individuals to increase confidence and encourage taking on new responsibilities, promoting healthy living and social inclusion.
To achieve this we work within the community;
-
holding surgeries in the localities we serve,
-
with groups and individuals to improve access to information and mental health services,
-
assisting Service Providers in cultural competence,
-
helping to arrange interpreter services,
-
arranging guest speakers to talk to groups on a range of health subjects relating to positive mental health.
