Post: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Counsellor: PTSD Project
This post is funded by the Big Lottery Fund.
 
Salary: £20,608.00 per annum
 
Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Occasional out of hours work will be required. Job Share considered.
 
Contract Type: Fixed Term. This post is funded to 30 April 2017.     
 
Location: Southend-on- Sea
 
Job Summary: We are looking to recruit a Counsellor who will be providing one-to- one counselling to individuals experiencing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Adjustment Disorder (AD). The post holder will deliver counselling services at our Southend office and other locations within the local community. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a project, funded by the Big Lottery Fund.
 
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  • A BACP or equivalent accredited Diploma in Psychotherapy or Counselling is required.
  • Experience of post diploma one-to- one counselling, group counselling and of working with students in a counselling setting.     
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Ability to communicate with other agencies in order to promote the service and generate new clients who need the service.     
  • The candidate must demonstrate an ability to work in a multi-agency setting, have a flexible attitude and show a willingness to understand change from both client and a systems perspective. The candidate will also be committed to on-going training.
  • The post holder is required to hold a full valid driving licence and access to a car for business use or a means of effectively and efficiently travelling around the area to carry out the duties of the role.
