Supported Housing

The aim is to provide low level support in specialised accommodation which is stable and sustainable, while developing skills and confidence to enable our tenants to move on to live independently.
How to make a Referral
Southend Mind has a number of flats and bedsits which they manage.
The eligibility for housing is adults who have been diagnosed as suffering from a Mental Health problem.
As part of this criteria we can only offer accommodation to people who either already reside in the Southend, Rochford and Castle Point areas or have family connections.
Adults who have a dual diagnosis i.e. Mental Health/Drug or Alcohol issue must have Mental Health as the primary diagnosis. We cannot accept anyone who is only unwell through alcohol or drug abuse.
Referrals are via statutory bodies such as GP’s, Community Mental Health Teams, Hospitals etc. Self referrals cannot be accepted. All referrers must know the client in a professional capacity and be willing to work in partnership with Southend Mind. All referral forms must be completed fully and signed by client and referrer, no referral will be accepted without both signatures.
Our aim is to provide the most suitable accommodation for your needs, therefore we do not house referrals on a first come, first served basis.
